Deputy National Communications Officer of the NDC, Kwaku Boahen is pointing accusing fingers at President Akufo-Addo for government’s decision to exclude the Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof. Obiri-Danso from the 7-member interim council formed on Thursday.

He further accused the president of deliberately sacking people perceived to be having different views on sensitive issues.

Kwaku Boahen wonders why the government is interfering in the affairs of the university when there is an appropriate body to take charge of such decisions.

“Akufo Addo and his government are deliberately sacking people perceived to be his enemies, especially those in high authority who believe in different views contrary to his (Akufo Addo).

“He did same at the University of Winneba and sacked the Vice-Chancellor and swore in a new one. He also sacked the EC after vowing to do so and so I’m not surprised he is the one behind all these things,” he said on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam Friday.

The government constituted the new council after it dissolved the previous one following a high-level meeting it held with all stakeholders in the Ashanti Region over the impasse between the University Authorities and students that led to a violent protest by the students.

But the NDC Man, says it is shocking for the student representative council to be represented on the interim council while the Vice-Chancellor has been excluded.

To Mr. Boahen, the development is a sign of disrespect to the Vice Chancellor.
