Former president John Mahama has argued that his government had a better record with regard to fighting corruption, compared to the President Akufo-Addo-led-administration.

According to a report by 3news.com, he added that President Akufo-Addo has, within the two years in office, become a clearing house for his appointees and ministers who have been accused of corruption.

Speaking at the 9th National Delegates Congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in Accra on Saturday, November 17, 2018, Mahama said despite “the swelling stench of corruption” in the Akufo-Addo administration, the president has failed to prosecute those involved.

In his view, what Akufo-Addo has been good at within the two years, is paying lips service in the fight against corruption.

The government’s flagship anti-graft agency, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), Mahama observed, has been starved of funds, personnel and logistics to work.

The minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, on Thursday, November 15, 2018, however revealed that an amount of GHC180 million has been allocated to the OSP.
