Ghana and Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku is disappointed with Ghana's 1-0 loss to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the FNB Stadium on Monday evening.

The Montpellier-born Ghanaian defender played the entire duration of the game and was at center back with Columbus Crew captain Jonathan Mensah.

The Black Stars lost their second game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

Bafana Bafana scored in the 83rd minute as Maritzburg United striker Bongokuhle Hlongwane cushioned a cross into the far corner to open the scores for South Africa

In a post on his Instagram page, the defender was disappointed but also thanked Ghanaians for their support and love shown in their two matches.

"Difficult to accept...but everybody gave everything today. Let’s keep our heads up. The road is still long. Thanks to all Ghanaians people for the support and love " he said.

Alexander Djiku has been capped by Ghana four times since making his debut in friendlies against Qatar and Mali.
