Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Fenerbahce faithful for their overwhelming support during the team's exhilarating 4-2 triumph over Adana Demirspor.

Djiku, who initiated the scoring for Fenerbahce, took to social media to extend his appreciation to the fans who filled the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium and cheered fervently for the entire 90 minutes.

"The support and encouragement of our fans, who never stopped cheering for 90 minutes, propelled us to another victory in this electric atmosphere. Thank you, number 12," the defender posted on social media following the match.

Despite missing international duty with Ghana against Nigeria and Uganda during the break, Djiku made a significant impact upon his return to Fenerbahce's lineup, netting the opening goal from a corner kick.

However, their lead was short-lived as former Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli capitalized on a mistake by the Fenerbahce goalkeeper to level the score just eight minutes later.

Six minutes into the second half, Balotelli's former City teammate Edin Dzeko restored Fenerbahce's lead, with Dusan Tadic extending their advantage twenty minutes before the final whistle.

Although Adana Demirspor managed to narrow the deficit with a goal from Yusuf Basari, Fenerbahce sealed the win with a late strike from Serdar Dursun, securing a vital victory in their bid to close the gap on league leaders Galatasaray.
