Fiorentina ace, Alfred Duncan has expressed his frustration about the way and manner he is consistently played out of position in Ghana's senior National team, the Black Stars.

The highly rated midfielder has attracted much criticism for not Playing to the expectations of Ghanaians whenever he wears the national team jersey- contrary to impressive displays for his Serie A club.

But the former Sassuolo star, in an interview with Citi TV in Accra says he is wrongly used anytime he shows up for national duty.

‘‘It’s something people have noticed from a distance. When you watch me in my club and see the kind of contribution I make, you’d notice there’s a difference,” Duncan said.

‘‘I’ve  been made to understand that I must be able to adapt to any role required in order to help the team.

“But sometimes it’s very frustrating when you’re asked to play a role you’re not used to. You don’t get to enjoy the game in the way you want,’’ he added.

The midfield maestro further revealed that he is best at having hold of the ball and his continuous deployment in roles that do not allow him do that is problematic.

‘‘I’m a player who loves to get a lot of touches on the ball, so it becomes problematic when I’m deployed in a role that doesn’t allow me to do that,” Alfred Duncan concluded.

Duncan moved from Sassuolo to Fiorentina during the winter transfer widow and he is expected to play a key role for the club as the serie A resumes next weekend.
