Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu has been awarded Stade Rennais' Player of the Month for September, following an impressive string of performances.
Seidu claimed the accolade after receiving the most votes from the clubโs fans, beating out competitors Ludovic Blas and Arnaud Kalimuendo. He takes over the honor from Amine Gouiri, who won in August.
Seidu's consistent form has been crucial for the Red and Blacks, featuring in all four of the team's matches throughout September.
Known for his defensive prowess, he ranks among the top performers for blocks and is the third-highest Rennes player in terms of interceptions.
Additionally, Seidu is listed in the top 20 Ligue 1 players for ground duels won, showcasing his importance in winning possession.
A product of the JMG Academy, Seidu joined Stade Rennais in January from Clermont Foot and has since established himself as a key figure in the squad.
He has already made six Ligue 1 appearances this season, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and reliable defender.
The 24-year-old is expected to start in Rennes' upcoming clash against AS Monaco before the October international break.
