Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for promising to give the Ghana Police Service, three helicopters.

It was a "necessity", according to Allotey Jacobs, who was contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Wednesday.

“They really need more than three looking at the present day sophistication of armed robbers but it is one step progress for the police service. The police service needs more,” he added.

Renowned journalist and host of the show, Kwami Sefa Kayi, agreed with Allotey Jacobs and also urged the government to turn its eye to the accommodation of police personnel.

According to him, the barracks of police officers should either be renovated or remodeled.
