Ampem Darkoa Ladies have been crowned champions of the Northern Zone of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League for the 2023/24 season.

Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Kumasi Sports Academy on the final day, they clinched the title with a three-point lead over their closest rivals.

Theresah Darko’s 33rd-minute goal secured a home victory for Kumasi Sports Academy, but it wasn't enough to displace Ampem Darkoa Ladies from the top spot.

The champions finished the season with 34 points, having achieved 11 wins, 1 draw, and 6 losses in their 18 league matches.

Northern Ladies, who played to a draw against Prisons Ladies on the final matchday, ended three points behind.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies' victory in the Northern Zone sets up a thrilling play-off final against Southern Zone champions Hasaacas Ladies, who secured their title with a 3-0 win over Faith Ladies.

The Malta Guinness Women's Premier League final is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The winner of this prestigious match will earn the right to represent Ghana at the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in August.
