RSC Anderlecht CEO Jesper Fredberg has provided insights into the club's decision to extend the contract of Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru, affirming their strong belief in his abilities.

"Before looking externally, we have to assess what type of players we already have in the squad.

Majeed was struck by injuries last season, but he’s having a strong pre-season and he’s more focused than ever to take the next step this season," Fredberg stated.

Fredberg further elaborated, "We continue to have a firm belief in his qualities and are therefore pleased that he has opted for an extended stay at the club.

With his unique profile as a dynamic, fast, and always forward-thinking midfielder, he fits our style of play and he can still be of great value to RSCA."

Despite challenges due to injuries last season, Ashimeru's resilience and determination have set a positive tone for the upcoming season.

The club and its supporters are optimistic that Ashimeru will continue to be a key player, contributing significantly to RSC Anderlecht's success.

Ashimeru, who joined Anderlecht in 2021 from Red Bull Salzburg, has been pivotal in midfield for the club.
