Spokesperson for the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie has rubbished reports that was making rounds in some quarters that the pair will never play for the Black Stars again after Ghana's AFCON 2021 exit.

There were reports that the pair had ended their Black Stars career due to the heavy criticism sent their way by a cross section of Ghanaians after the AFCON debacle.

Ghana exited the AFCON group stages for the first time since 2006 after finishing bottom of a group which had Comoros, Gabon and Morocco.

“Andrè and Jordan Ayew are still very committed to the Black Stars team as they have always been."

They will keep donning the Black Stars jersey to represent Ghana and give the team their very best on and off the pitch, as always.”

“We just got off the phone,” Tackie who speaks for the brothers wrote on Twitter.

The pair have history of quitting the Black Stars as in 2013, the two brothers retired from the national team prematurely after they were overlooked by coach Kwasi Appiah for the AFCON tournament.

They however changed their mind after a meeting with then President, John Mahama at the seat of government.

The Ayew brothers have since never looked backed as Andre Ayew who is the Black Stars captain has played 102 matches and scored 23 goals while Jordan has 18 goals in 73 appearances.
