Pedro Goncalves, the head coach of Angola, has highlighted the significance of Agostinho Cristovao Paciencia, affectionately known as Mabululu, ahead of Angola’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Ghana.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 5, at 16:00 GMT.
Speaking at the pre-game press conference, Goncalves praised Mabululu for his impressive career trajectory and current form.
"He’s built a very good career. He began right from the bottom and right now everybody is talking about him, so I think he’s an example for young boys not only in Angola but also Africa," Goncalves stated.
He further emphasized Mabululu's importance to the team but acknowledged that Angola has several other players in good form who could be pivotal in the match.
Both Ghana and Angola are keen to secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON, which will be held in Morocco.
They are vying for qualification from Group F, which also includes Sudan and Niger.
The game against Ghana is a crucial opportunity for Angola to demonstrate their capabilities and advance their chances in the qualifiers.
