The Arts Centre in Accra will be moved to Kawukudi Park, close to Mamobi, if the Marine Drive Project takes off, Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Minister-designate Catherine Afeku has suggested.

Ms Afeku told parliament's Appointments Committee on Monday 6 February during her vetting that the project would create jobs in excess of 500,000.

However, the project will require “the Arts Centre to be relocated to Kawudi” for its operations.

Over 200 acres of Ghana’s coastline from Osu to Jamestown in Greater Accra have been earmarked for development under the Marine Drive Project.

The structure is expected to have tourist resorts with facilities such as hotels, casinos, shopping malls, office complexes and theme parks among others.
