Ghana Captain Asamoah Gyan has wished compatriot Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom a happy birthday as he turns 25 today.

Born in Agogo, Ashanti region Boakye began his career with Bechem United in his native country of Ghana. He eventually moved to Agogo based club, D.C. United and remained until 2008 when he was scouted by Genoa C.F.C following a tournament in Vicenza, Italy.

The prolific goal scorer had stints at Juventus, Sassuolo, Elche, Atalanta, Roda JC, Latina before joining Serbian team Red Star Belgrade.

H earned his debut call-up by the Ghana national team for the friendly match against China at the Tianhe Stadium on 15 August 2012.

Boakye Yiadom has risen to become one of the hottest and most sought after forwards in Europe last year with 42 goals to his name in 2017.
