Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan has issued a passionate call to action, urging sports legends to unite in revitalizing the declining state of football and other sporting disciplines in Ghana.

In a statement shared on his platform, Gyan underscored his commitment to addressing the challenges confronting Ghanaian sports and called upon fellow legends to join forces for this crucial cause.

The rallying cry comes in the wake of Ghana's disappointing performance in international competitions, notably the lackluster showing of the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast, where the team exited the tournament with just two points.

Gyan highlighted the pressing need for influential figures, both within and beyond the realm of football, to harness their influence, networks, and resources to attract investors to Ghana's sporting sector.

"I firmly believe that the time has come for sports legends to unite and leverage their influence, networks, and resources to attract investors to our country and make a significant impact on our youth in various sports disciplines, including football, boxing, and athletics," Gyan emphasized.

By rallying together, Gyan envisions a powerful coalition of sports icons capable of driving positive change and fostering the development of young talent across various sporting arenas in Ghana.
