Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, the former Administrative Manager of Asante Kotoko, recently outlined the club's strategy for the upcoming 2024/25 football season during an interview with Akoma FM on June 26th.

A key focus of their plan is to streamline the squad, aiming to maintain a maximum of 26 players.

Dasoberi emphasized that Asante Kotoko's recruitment strategy prioritizes players who are not only physically fit but also capable of making significant contributions to the team's objectives.

He assured fans of the club's commitment to forming a robust and cohesive squad, stating, "We will operate with a maximum of 26 players, and I want to assure our fans that we are bringing in players who are prepared and capable of performing for Asante Kotoko."

Reflecting on the challenges encountered during the previous Ghana Premier League season, where Asante Kotoko finished sixth, Dasoberi acknowledged issues surrounding player commitment.

This assessment prompted the club's decision to release 21 players by the end of the season, aimed at addressing these concerns and fostering a more unified team.

Asante Kotoko has already initiated their preseason preparations, including a significant fixture against their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the upcoming Democracy Cup, scheduled for a later date.

This match serves as an early test and highlights the intense competition expected between the two storied clubs ahead of the new season.
