Ashantigold SC will expedite preparations ahead of the Second Leg of the Total CAF Confederations Cup with a friendly game this weekend.

The Miners will host division one side Asokwa Deportivo on Saturday, 21st September, 2019 (9:30 AM) at the Ofori Stadium.

Both teams met in friendly encounters on two occasions in 2018, with Ashantigold winning all two games by 3:2 (Goals from Salia Ouattara, Richard Djodi and Roland Amouzou) and 3:1 (Goals from Daniel Gozar, Richard Djodi and Amos Addai)

This will be the first time the teams will be meeting this year.

With a record of consecutively eliminating the Miners in the 2016 (R16) and 2017 (R32) MTN FA Cup competitions, Asokwa Deportivo is expected to offer a stiff opposition to the Miners.

Coach Ricardo Da Rocha will utilize the opportunity to prepare and finalise his team ahead of a trip to Morroco.

The team will be given a break on Sunday and resume training on Monday, 23rd September, 2019.
