English Premier League side Aston Villa, is reportedly contemplating a move for Rennes winger Jeremy Doku in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Unai Emery, the current Villa manager, is keen on further bolstering his first-team squad, having already secured deals for Pau Torres and Youri Tielemans.

According to various reports, Villa is actively seeking a versatile attacker, and numerous names have been linked to the club in recent weeks.

One prominent target is reportedly Moussa Diaby, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano mentioned on Twitter that Villa considers securing his transfer a priority.

However, Bayer Leverkusen, Diaby's current club, is reluctant to sell the player for anything less than €60 million.

In the event that their pursuit of Diaby falls through, Villa is said to be considering a move for Jeremy Doku.

Romano suggests that if their efforts to bring in Diaby are unsuccessful, Villa will turn their attention to the 21-year-old Belgian-born Ghanaian winger.

Doku has been highly regarded as one of European football's most promising talents since his breakthrough at Anderlecht, although he has not always been a regular starter.

Since joining Rennes in October 2020, Doku has made 73 appearances in Ligue 1, starting 43 of them.

In the 2022-23 season, he made 13 starts and 16 substitute appearances for the French club. Villa sees great potential in the young winger and believes he could be a valuable addition to their squad.

As the summer transfer window progresses, Aston Villa will continue to explore their options and make strategic moves to strengthen their team.

Jeremy Doku remains on their radar, and if a deal for Diaby proves unattainable, Villa may make their move for the talented Rennes winger.
