Ghanaian striker, Asumah Abubakar-Ankrah has been shortlisted for the Switzerland Challenge League 2020 Best Player Award.

The 23 year old Ghana-born Portuguese has been in fine form for his side SC Kriens in the 2019-20 campaign in the Swiss second tier league.

He was in good form last season as he played 47 games in all competitions for his side and was adjudged the best player in his team at the end of the season.

The Portuguese International who is eligible to play for Ghana completed last season with 15 goals and four assists in the league.

His impressive form attracted a lot of interest from clubs from around Europe but he stayed put at the lower tier Swiss side.

He has not been able to replicate his impressive form last season largely due to injuries but has notched seven goals with four assists in eleven games this season.

The Kumasi born Portuguese will compete with Davide Callà of FC Winterthur and Petar Pusic Grasshopper Club Zürich for the coveted trophy.
