The Mansco filling station at the Atomic Junction in the Greater Accra Region where a gas explosion occurred about a year ago, has become a hub for illicit sexual activities as well as a toilet for some residents and workers in the neighbourhood.

Sunday, 7 October 2018 was exactly a year that the country witnessed the gas explosion at the place which killed seven people and injured several others.

The explosion extended to a fuel station and caused a huge fireball in the sky.

The government, as part of measures to forestall any such incident, called for the implementation of the National LPG Policy on 12th October 2017 through the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM) of LPG distribution.

A year after the incident, a security officer at the site, Kofi Appiah, told Class91.3FM’s Blessed Sogah that miscreants have been using the place as a lair for vices.

As he took the reporter round for an inspection, Mr Appiah said: “They have been engaging in sexual activities here even at night”.

“They do it here; there is an enclosed area, too, at the other section of the facility,” he underscored.

He warned the culprits to stop using the place as a brothel and toilet, saying the law will deal with anybody caught doing that.
