Augsburg defender Patric Pfeiffer has officially switched his nationality from Germany to Ghana, making him eligible to represent the Black Stars.
The 24-year-old center-back expressed his enthusiasm and readiness in an interview with IDiski Times.
"I have my passport now, and I'm done. I'm ready," Pfeiffer stated, highlighting his excitement to play for Ghana. Born and raised in Germany, Pfeiffer emphasized his deep connection to Ghana, saying,
"This is my motherland. I love Ghana, I love the people, I love the vibe, I love the food."
Pfeiffer also mentioned his familiarity with Ghana's coach, Otto Addo, who previously coached him at Hamburg's youth team.
His decision to switch nationalities was announced two years ago but faced delays. With all the necessary procedures now completed, Pfeiffer is hopeful for a call-up in September.
"I know the coach, and I have good contacts with him. I wanted to join the Black Stars before, but I didn't have my passport.
Now it's done, and I'm ready," he added.
Pfeiffer's addition to the Ghanaian team is expected to bolster their defense. His passion for the country and its culture makes him a valuable asset for the Black Stars.
