Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya has highlighted the crucial role of teamwork as the club prepares for the upcoming 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

After a challenging previous season that saw the Porcupine Warriors finish in a disappointing sixth place, the club has undergone significant changes, releasing over 20 players and bringing in 12 new signings to strengthen the squad.

Yahaya, one of the few remaining players from last season, emphasized that the team is focused on building a well-rounded squad that does not rely on individual stars.

He noted that success will come from a collective effort rather than depending on one player to carry the team.

"We are building a comprehensive team for the next season," Yahaya said. "We don't intend to rely on individual players or depend solely on a particular striker.

Our goal is to create a squad where everyone can contribute, especially when the situation gets tough."

As part of their pre-season preparations, Kotoko has scheduled a series of friendly matches, including an upcoming game against Medeama SC on Friday, August 16.

This match will also serve as the inaugural event for the new TNA Park in Tarkwa. Kotoko will officially kick off their Premier League campaign against Karela United in early September.

Yahaya's comments reflect Kotoko's renewed commitment to a balanced and unified approach as they aim to improve on last season's performance and mount a strong challenge for the league title in the new season.
