The electoral Commission will on Thursday draw the balloting to decide on where parliamentary candidates will be placed on the ballot paper, joy news reports.

The Electoral Commission has invited political parties to a meeting Thursday to decide on where parliamentary candidates will place on the ballot paper, Communications Director at the Electoral Commission, Mr Eric Dzakpasu confirmed on Wednesday evening, it adds.

Drawing of ballot for  presidential candidates  has been suspended pending the outcome of legal suits brought against the EC after it disqualified some prseidential candidates from contesting the 2016 elections.

Some aggrieved parties like PPP and the NDP  have sued the EC, arguing their disqualification was not founded on law.

President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress, Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party, Ivor Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and an independent candidate, Jacob Osei Yeboah met all the criteria set by the EC.

The Commission has, however,  suspended  the balloting for the four qualified candidates due to the legal challenges.

Mr Eric Dzakpasu has said the Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting will also discuss other matters relating to the elections.
