Basake Holy Stars beat Asekem FC 2-0 to preserve their lead in Zone Two of the Access Bank Division One League. Bashir Hussein scored the opener for Holy Stars in the 32nd minute to put them a halftime lead.

After the interval, Daniel Adjei netted in the 84th minute to seal victory for the home side. Basake Holy Stars have now recorded their first win in the League following back to back defeats since the resumption of the League.

Meanwhile New Edubiase maintained their outstanding run in the second round with a 1-0 win over Young Redbull at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.

Bernard Kokonu's stunner in the 59th minute helped his side grab all the spoils. New Edubiase have now won their last three games scoring three goals and keeping three consecutive clean sheets to close the gap on leaders Basake Holy Stars.

Also in the Zone, Rospak FC recorded their first win in five games following a 2-1 away victory over Skyy FC at Daboase.

Paul Ennin scored the opener for Skyy FC in the 27th minute after he beautifully connected a spot kick as Kain Adade denied the home side the lead before halftime with his 31st minute equalizer.

Rashid Yussif’s goal in the second minute of added time gave Rospak FC an astonishing win away from home.

The defeat is a dent on the title aspirations of Skyy FC pushing them to the third spot in Zone Two - two points behind second placed New Edubiase United and four points adrift of leaders Holy Stars.
