The Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has voiced deep concern over the significant voter apathy that contributed to the party’s defeat in the recent Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Dr. Bawumia has begun engaging constituency executives in the Greater Accra Region and other key stakeholders to analyze what went wrong during the elections.
Speaking to party members, he noted, “The data clearly shows that the NDC did not significantly increase their numbers compared to the 2020 elections. Our loss was primarily because many NPP supporters chose not to vote, effectively handing the victory to the NDC.”
Despite the disappointing outcome, Dr. Bawumia urged party members not to lose hope.
“Losing this election does not mean it’s over. The will of man is not the will of God. This is not the time for blame games but for unity and reflection. We must come together, learn from this experience, and start strategizing for a strong comeback in 2028″ he emphasized.
Dr. Bawumia called for calm and focused efforts within the party, stressing the importance of unity to rebuild and regain the trust of their supporters.
He assured party members that the NPP would rise again with determination and hard work.
