General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has described Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia as suffering from a “political hangover”.

In his view, the Vice President is behaving as if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is still in opposition.

General Mosquito as he is popularly called made the comment while reacting to Dr. Bawumia's claim that the previous government concealed GH¢ 7 billion in debt from the Transition team.

He wondered why the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 fiscal years data provided to the NPP transition team members did not include the debt racked up by the NDC government.

But Asiedu Nketia maintained that, the allegations are nothing but cheap propaganda against the erstwhile Mahama-led administration.

He explained that, the GH¢7 billion purported to have been unaccounted for by the previous government has been captured in documents of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department.

This conduct of Dr. Bawumia, the NDC scribe said, is enough attestation that he is exhibiting signs of political hangover.

“There is something called campaign hangover. It has affected Bawumia very much. Campaign hangover can lure one to forget he has won whiles in power, especially in the first year. It can even urge you to go on demonstrations if care isn’t taken. But against who?...” he jabbed during an interview with UTV.

General Mosquito stated that the "falsehood" being peddled by the Vice President is part of a grand scheme to justify to Ghanaians why the NPP cannot fulfill their “juicy” campaign promises during the 2016 electioneering campaign.

“NPP decided to lie to Ghanaians to win votes. After winning power, they are looking for lies to tell the people as to why they cannot work…” he said.

Asiedu Nketia maintained that the NPP’s propaganda about the economy is now coming back to haunt them.
