One of Ghana's most prolific female rappers, Eno Barony has said the contributions by two veteran female musicians in Ghana, have helped shaped and paved the way for other females to come up in the industry.

Born Ruth Eno Adjoa Amankwah Nyame Adom, Eno recounted moments in her childhood when musicians Mzbel and Abrewa Nana, inspired and shaped her love for music despite her father's strong resistance to the genre of music she chose.

According to her, she enjoyed their works and always wanted to be like them when she grows but been the Pastor’s daughter that she was, there was no way she could have made it known to her parents because they wanted her to be a professional.

Eno whose musical journey has not been smooth sailing acknowledged that her two mentors also did not have it easy but braved the odds to become top artistes during their era.

She said in a post on Instagram that “Growing up I use to watch tv a lot and I fell in love with these two women I didn’t hav the chance to learn their songs cuz anytime they appeared my dad will change the channel but their names and rhythms got stuck in my head It’s either I’ll sing ?mate odo filla filla ama me da mentumi 3nda 3nda ? or ? fama me fa w) me fa shi me wo wu wo me ntumi nko ooo awoso me
And I wanted to be them when I grow up but there was no way u cld tell ur father that cuz all parents want to hear professions like doctor ,lawyer etc Their music journey wasn’t easy but yet they survived on the surface and paved a way for we the young ones to follow and as we celebrate mothers this week I celebrate u two @abrewa_nana @mzbeldaily“.
