Former Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng has called for patience for the Black Stars as they head to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He says that the team is relatively new and that Ghanaian should be patient with the team as it grows and they will come good.

The former Fulham midfielder added that Nigeria on paper had a good team than Ghana during the 2022 FIFA World Cup play offs but the Black Stars triumph with the support of Ghanaians.

Speaking in an interview with Hot FM, the Right to Dream Academy scout called for support and time for the Black Stars.

“ It’s an entirely new team and we can’t judge them with these few games, let’s be patient for the team as they grow and surely the players will come good” he added

“ On paper Nigerians had a very good team than Ghana but the kind of support the team had in Kumasi really helped the team and for the first I thought I should have played in that game just to feel that support” he said.

Derrick Boateng played for the likes of Fulham, Getafe, Eibar, Rayo Vallecano, Dnipro among others.

He was capped 40 times by Ghana and scored just once.
