Bechem United CEO, Nana Kwasi Darling, has appealed to the Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to allow Kumasi Asante Kotoko to compete in next year’s African clubs competition.

Following the decision of the NC ruling Ghanaian clubs out of all CAF club competitions next season, holders of the MTN FA cup Kotoko look set on missing the opportunity to represent Ghana in the 2018/2019 Confederation Cup.

A decision Nana Darling disagrees with and also stressed the need for Ghana to have a representation in continental club competition.

“Let’s support Kotoko to go and compete in Africa; there is nothing like ideal time to do anything. We need to have a team competing in Africa,” he stated.

He further advised the NC to continue with the league. “Let us continue the league so that the Normalisation Committee can use it as a case study.”

Professional football activities have been on halt in Ghana since June 2018, and the country, as a result, has no Premier League champion and FA Cup winner to present to CAF as representatives of the Champions League and the Confederation Cup respectively.
