Coach of Accra Great Olympics, Isaac Nii Armah says that the long break in football has had adverse effect on his side.

According to the Olympics trainer the long absence of competitive football has made most of  the players rusty.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Akoma Fm, he bemoaned the lack of action for the past year.

"Yes the performance of the players have been greatly affected by the long absence of football in the country."

"Due to that I always take the boys through double training sessions in order to get them back to full fitness" he lamented.

"If you are a coach you must look at how you draw your program so as to help the players catch up".

The 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League season was truncated due to an alleged corruption investigation by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Since then the nearest we have come to competitive football has been the NC special cup tier 1 and 2 which was concluded months ago.
