betPawa Premier League: Samartex hold Accra Lions in an entertaining fixture

Samartex grabbed a morale-boosting 1-1 draw on Monday in their match day 9 encounter against Accra Lions at the Sogakope Park.

Accra Lions have now gone three matches without a win drawing all three games in the Ghana Premier League even before the World Cup break.

It was a game of two halves as the away side, FC Samartex started the game on the front foot and dominated in the early moments.

Their dominance paid off as Giyasu Ibrahim grabbed the opener for the Timber boys as early as the 11th minute of the game.

Giyasu took a fierce shot from outside the penalty box to score the opener in an entertaining game.

The home side rallied back and leveled the scores of the game in the  40th minute through Hagan Frimpong who connected beautifully to a cross from David Oduro.

Both sides were unable to add to the scores as the first half ended 1-1.

After recess, the home side Accra Lions upped the ante in search of the elusive winner as Samartex sat  deep in their  own half repelling all that was thrown at them by their host.
