Award winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has said his former industry arch rival, Stonebwoy deserves to be on the feature with pop Queen, Beyonce.

The 'Gringo' hitmaker indicated that he made this known to Stonebwoy when he called him to congratulate him on his feat.

Speaking on Zylofon TV in an interview, Shatta Wale said either Stonebwoy or Samini would have been selected if Beyonce hadn't chosen him for a collaboration on her The Lion King: The Gift album.

“If I did not get this deal I am sure either Samini or Stonebwoy would have gotten it. These two acts have also worked hard and deserve any good thing that comes in the industry. Someone like Stone has really worked hard and done so much to put Ghana on the map so yes it could have been any of them," he said.

In answer to how Stonebwoy reacted when the news broke he said, “He called me to congratulate me but then I told him, this gig should have been him and he quickly responded that no, I deserve it, it is for all for us.”

The much talked about album by pop queen, Beyoncé was released on Friday morning.

The 14 track album, The Lion King: The gift sees Shatta Wale featured in song number 11 – ’Already’.

He is the only Ghanaian on the list of 10 African artistes.

Beyoncé ranked by Forbes as the most powerful female in entertainment in 2015 and 2017 featured five Nigerian artistes, Mr Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy and Wizkid.

It also has a Cameroonian and two South Africans.
