NEW DELHI: Congress's tongue-in-cheek offer to help restore Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) website, which has been down for maintenance since yesterday after alleged hacking, seems to have not gone well with Aam Aadmi Party.
Earlier today, taking a jibe at BJP, the Congress party tweeted, "Morning @BJP4India, we realise you’ve been down for a long time now. If you need help getting back up, we’re happy to help."
Linking the same to Congress party's reluctance to join hands with AAP in Delhi for Lok Sabha elections, AAP tweeted, "Just like what you did in Delhi! This election wherever BJP is down, congress will help it to get back up. As we said #CongressHelpingBJP."

Yesterday, ending all speculations, Congress said to no to any kind of alliance with AA in Delhi. The party scotched all such talk and said that it was not going to have an alliance with AAP for the LS polls. Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit said the party was in a “better position” in Delhi now and was capable of contesting the elections alone.
Recating to this, CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “At a time when the whole country wants to defeat the Modi-Shah duo, Congress is helping BJP by splitting the anti-BJP vote. Rumours are that Congress has some secret understanding with BJP.”

The CM Kejriwal accused Congress of forming an “unholy alliance” with BJP. “Delhi is ready to fight against the Cong-BJP alliance. People will defeat this unholy alliance,” he further added in the tweet. Today's tweet too is another salvo on the same.

As for BJP's website, the ruling party's official website (bjp.org) has been down since yesterday morning (March 5). Some reports claim that the website was taken down after it was hacked. Some social media posts claim that the website, before it was taken down, showed memes created around Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German chancellor Angela Merkel. It’s not known till what time those memes were up on the website before the site went offline.

Initially, the website was showing “error 522” message. Later, the "error 522" message was replaced with the following text, "We'll be back soon! Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. we’ll be back online shortly! — Web Admin. The same text has been appearing at the time of filing this story.
