Tshifhiwa Thidiela, Chairman of Black Leopards, has outlined the primary objective for Maxwell Konadu, the club's newly appointed head coach: securing promotion to the Professional Soccer League. Konadu, formerly an assistant coach for Ghana's national team, will join on a three-year contract.

Leopards faced relegation from the top-tier league in the 2020/21 season, culminating in a final-day defeat to Cape Town City.

Thidiela expressed confidence in Konadu's ability to lead the team effectively, emphasizing that their sole focus in the upcoming season will be achieving promotion.

"We are confident that he will be able to do well. And it’s unfortunate or fortunate, the league that we’re playing in, that we only playing for one thing, one thing only which is for promotion," Thidiela stated during a press briefing.

Maxwell Konadu brings extensive coaching experience from Ghana, having recently guided Nsoatreman FC to victory in the MTN FA Cup.

His tenure with Nsoatreman FC was set to mark their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup following their FA Cup triumph.

The appointment underscores Black Leopards' determination to regain their position in South African football's top echelon, with Konadu entrusted to lead the charge towards promotion in the forthcoming season.
