Ghana's Black Queens will continue their preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a second international friendly match against Benin.

This follows their 3-1 victory over Malawi on Saturday in the first of three test matches scheduled to fine-tune the team ahead of the continental tournament in Morocco.

Head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren is using the friendlies to assess his squad’s readiness, enhance team chemistry, and sharpen tactical strategies.

The encounter with Benin will provide another valuable test before Ghana wraps up their warm-up series with a high-stakes match against arch-rivals Nigeria on Sunday, June 29.

The Black Queens open their WAFCON campaign on July 7, facing defending champions South Africa in what promises to be a thrilling Group C opener.

The build-up matches are seen as crucial for Ghana’s quest to make a strong impression at this year’s tournament, with the team showing promising signs of form and cohesion.
