Kuffour Asamoah, captain of the Black Satellites, has expressed resolute determination to guide the team to triumph in the Men's Football Competition of the 2023 African Games.

As Ghana's U-20 side prepares to commence their campaign against Congo at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon in their Group A opener, Asamoah voiced unwavering confidence in the team's capacity to clinch the tournament's top honors.

Addressing journalists at a pre-game press conference on Thursday, the Berekum Chelsea defender conveyed his appreciation for the privilege of representing Ghana at the African Games.

Asamoah issued a bold proclamation regarding the team's aspirations, asserting, “Many people outside are waiting for this opportunity, and we’ve been selected; we are much grateful for this opportunity.

We are going to deliver and bring out the best in us. We are going for the trophy. We are going for the trophy.”

Under Asamoah's leadership, the Black Satellites are resolutely focused on surpassing their performance from the previous African Games in 2019, where they failed to progress from the group stage, finishing third in Group B behind Mali and Senegal.
