Desmond Ofei, the coach of the Black Satellites, exudes calmness and confidence as he leads the Ghana U-20 national team into the 2023 African Games.

Having assumed his role in September 2023, Ofei is poised to embark on his maiden major assignment with the Satellites at the 13th African Games.

The upcoming encounter against Congo in the opening fixture of Group A on Friday, March 8, presents a pivotal challenge for Ofei and his team.

Despite the gravity of the tournament, the coach radiates assurance and faith in the preparedness of his squad.

"No, there is no pressure," Ofei remarked when asked about the responsibility looming over him. "We are fully prepared. We have a good squad. Our boys are ready and hungry. We don’t feel any pressure; not at all."

The Black Satellites are determined to surpass their performance from the 2019 edition, where they faltered to advance beyond the group stage.

Backed by a well-prepared and motivated squad, Ofei envisions a more triumphant campaign in the 2023 African Games.
