The head coach  of the Black Satellites Karim Zito has opened up on the reasons why he decided to drop two bright prospects in the Ghana squad  for the WAFU U-20 Nations Cup in  Niger.

Clinton Duodu of Bechem United and  Osman Amadu of Legon Cities have been playing well in the domestic league but were overlooked by the technical team of the Black Satellites.

The duo were initially part of the provisional squad that was invited for preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Center  for Excellence.

Their exclusion  caused a lot of stir among many Ghanaians as they are  seen performing  in the Ghana Premier League on daily basis.

Speaking  after the 2-0 defeat to Nigeria, coach Karim  Zito explained that the players failed to glitter during the preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence.

He adds that he was surprised that the two household names in the Ghana Premier League failed to shine.

"Your team's performance will bring you to the national team. But when you come, I will use your performance in camp to judge you. I was even surprised and was wondering what was happening to Clinton. I left Clinton and Amadu out because they weren't performing well."

Ghana lost 2-0 to Nigeria in their opening game in the WAFU Zone B U-20 Nations Cups.
