New Black Stars assistant coach Otto Addo has arrived in Ghana to help prepare the team for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup clash against Zimbabwe in Cape Coast.

Maxwell Konadu will be the first assistant coach with German born former Black Stars defender Otto Addo serving as the second assistant coach.

Otto Addo who is not domiciled in Ghana will not draw monthly salaries as he will be paid as and when he comes down to work for Ghana.

The Dortmund trainer and scout will still maintain his role at the German club while commuting from Germany to Ghana each time there is an assignment for the senior national team.

The former international joined the Black and Yellows backroom staff in 2019, leaving Danish outfit Nordsjaelland.

Born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, Addo switched allegiance to represent Ghana in 1999, a year before joining the Black Stars for the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

In 2006, he made a return to the team after a long absence, just in time to make the final squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

In the past he had also worked with Hamburg and Borussia Monchengladbach.
