John Paintsil, deputy coach of the Black Stars, was present at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday to observe the Ghana Premier League match between Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities.

Paintsil's attendance at the game was part of an ongoing effort to identify players with the requisite qualities and attributes for potential inclusion in the senior national team setup.

Accompanying Paintsil was Desmond Ofei, head coach of the Ghana U20 team, who shared a similar objective of scouting talent for future national team assignments.

This visit is just one of many undertaken by Paintsil, who has previously attended matches across various regions of Ghana, including encounters involving Kotoko, Samartex, Dreams FC, Nsoatreman, Bofoakwa Tano, Hearts of Oak, and Karela FC.

These efforts reflect the dedication of the Black Stars' technical team, led by Coach Otto Addo, to cast a wide net in search of promising players capable of bolstering the national squad.

With preparations underway for the Black Stars' upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic in June, Paintsil's diligence underscores the team's commitment to assembling a formidable lineup capable of achieving success on both the African and global stages, thereby fulfilling the aspirations of Ghanaian football fans.
