The senior men's national team the Black Stars have picked up an amount of $5000 each for their 1-0 victory in their 2022 World Cup qualifiers opener against Ethiopia last Friday.

Ghana defeated the Walias Ibex of Ethiopia by a lone goal at the Cape Coast Stadium in the opening game.

A fortuitous long range strike from Mubarak Wakaso in the 35th minute from about 35 yards squirmed through the legs of the Ethiopia goalkeeper Teklemariyam Shanko to hand Ghana all three points in the game.

Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Bafana Bafana on Monday in a limp display at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Despite suffering the defeat in South Africa the Black Stars will pocket $50000 per player for winning the game against Ethiopia.

The Black Stars are currently on the same points as Ethiopia after two matches with three points while South Africa lead the pack with four points.

Zimbabwe are bottom of Group G in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers which will take place in Qatar.

Ghana will next play in October where they will face Zimbabwe in a double header both home and away
