The Black Stars of Ghana will hold their first training session today ahead of their International friendly game against Mali and Qatar later this week.

As part of preparations for the AFCON 2022 qualifiers against Sudan, Ghana will play two friendly matches in Turkey Antalya against Mali and Qatar on the 9th and 12th October respectively.

The technical team of the Black Stars arrived in Turkey on Sunday while some of the invited players have started trooping into camp.

Eight of the these players arrived at the Xanthe Resort & Spa on Monday to team up with Samuel Owusu and Razak Abalora who travelled with the local contingent on Saturday. They include Baba Idrisu, Benson Annang, Kamaldeen Suleyman and Nicholas Opoku.

The rest are Gideon Mensah, Eugene Ansah, Emmanuel Lomotey and Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

Captain Andre Ayew and his brother Jordan Ayew have also arrived in Atalya.

Ghana will be without some key players going into the two friendly matches as no. 1 goalkeeper Richard Ofori will not play the game while in-form returnee striker John Antwi and Lumor Agbenyenu will all miss out.

Late call ups have been handed to two Turkey based player that is Caleb Amankwaah and Joseph Paintsil.

While talented midfielder Kudus Mohammed is also ruled out through injury.

C.K Akonnor will be making his debut as manager of the Black Stars on Friday when Ghana takes on Mali in the friendly game.
