The Black Stars of Ghana will next month play in a four nations tournament in Austria as they prepare for the 2023 AFCON qualifier double header against Angola in September.

Ghana will play against the likes of Qatar, Jamaica, and Morocco in a tournament dubbed the Austria Mini Football Tournament.

The matches will be played at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, renamed in memory of Austrian footballer Ernst Happel following his death in 1992.

It is expected that the tournament will begin on Saturday, August 20, and will end Friday, August 26, with the four participating teams playing against each other.

The tournament will help teams that are preparing for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar like the host nation Qatar, Ghana, and Morocco.

Ghana will struggle to get the full complement of their team as most leagues across Europe will start in early August and may have to rely on local-based players for the tournament.

The Black Stars will play their first group match at the 2022 World Cup against Portugal on November 24th at Stadium 974 in Doha, 2022 before taking on Korea on November 28th at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan. and finally facing Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah. on December 2.
