Leicester city player Jeffrey Schlupp may not honor the call up to the national team squad for Ghana’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda due to injury.

The 23 year old versatile player was named in coach Avram Grant’s 23 man squad who are tasked with defending the national colors at the Accra sports stadium on September 3. However a muscle problem which was confirmed by Leicester city coach threatens to sideline him for the game against Rwanda. It is very likely he may not recover in time for the game and may have to pull out of the squad.

This is what coach Claudio Ranieri had to say regarding Schlupp’s latest injury; "Jeff had a little injury to his muscle," Ranieri told Leicester official website ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Swansea City. "It’s unbelievable because he was so good before the Arsenal match. "He felt something and now I hope he will be ready after the international break.”

For now it is not quite clear whether or not Jeffrey will honor the call up. The only thing certain is that he is sweating over his fitness and a serious doubt for the game. Schlupp has so far featured 13 times for the Black Stars and has scored once.
