A former minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko, has referred to former president John Mahama as a bald-faced liar.

Taking to Facebook, a social media platform, he explained that Mahama’s claims to the effect that members of a vigilante group were at the funeral of his brothers is a lie.

According to him, the funeral went on peacefully and no reports of violence were recorded.

Agyarko’s comments came after Mahama met with some foreign dignitaries, and he showed them scenes from the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election, during which people were assaulted.

Some Ghanaians took to social media to express their opinions about Agyarko's statement:

Amoanu wondered why Mahama should be in trouble for showing the world how 'peaceful' Ghana is.

To Anderson, Agyarko is talking simply because Kwesi Nyantakyi recently spoke, after being punished for his alleged role in corruption in football.

Zakariah wondered how Agyarko could speak about the Ayawaso West Wuogon elections, with the Ameri scandal hanging around his neck.

Tabkoha advised Agyarko to take the 'Hon' out of his name.

To Lumumba, Agyarko is rather a bald-faced thief.
