Former Hearts of Oak defender Nana Kwesi Bobie Ansah has revealed that his looks and physique got him demoted to the junior ranks of Nigerian side Sunshine Stars.

Speaking to host "Action" on Ashh FM's Super Sports" show, the 25 year old claimed that contrary to the notion in Ghana that he is "overage" and past his prime, management of a football club he played on loan for in Nigeria saw him as too young for the senior ranks of the team and nearly sent him to the junior team.

"When I went to Nigeria they told me I am a kid so I should go and train with the junior team. It was after the training session that they realized I could play in the senior team and should be given the chance." He stated

Bobie Ansah who has also played for Kumasi Sensational King Faisal claimed that very mature and old players play in the Nigeria league insisting he was regarded as a very young player in comparison to older guys such as Enyimba's captain.

"Over there the players are quite old. My first game was against Enyimba and you should have seen their captain, exactly like Ablordey but you cannot even out-do him because he is very athletic too. He claimed

Bobie further claimed that the Nigeria league was more lucrative than the Ghana Premier League.

"The money matters in Nigeria is better because when government workers are paid the players are paid as well because the various states take charge of the clubs in their states."

On whether he is open to clubs in Ghana, he insisted that he will make a move to any club depending on how lucrative the deal he is offered. He asserted that he is beyond the level of a player aiming at making a name for himself hence the need for a good financial deal.

" I will listen to offers from any Ghanaian club who have the capacity because it is ridiculous to play football and be paid a meagre 250gh a month. I cannot do anything with that amount. He emphasized

The former Asante Kotoko defender argued that he started playing at a very young age and was signed by King Faisal in 2002 which may be the reason why he is thought to be too old. He accused Medeama SC of trying to tie him down with an insignificant amount. He claimed that the club told him he has past his prime so should be willing to sign a very low budget contract with them. An offer he vehemently turned down.

"Medeama SC called me and told me I have past my prime so I should settle for any amount they give me."
