The body of a young man found in the bush between Koluedor and Sege, in the Ada West District in June this year, with multiple gunshots wounds, has been identified.

He was named as Pastor Prosper Sappor, 35, who hailed from Alavanyo in the Ada East District, but resided in Ashiaman near Tema.

He was however not known to have been attached to any particular church group.

A source close to the Ada West Police told the GNA that relatives of the deceased, who identified the body, revealed that the deceased visited the area from Ashiaman for a funeral on the day of his death.

The source said reasons for the shooting of the deceased still remain unclear and the identity of the perpetrators was unknown.

According to the source, the body was still at the Police Hospital morgue in Accra, pending autopsy after which it will be released to the family for burial, but assured that investigations will still continue.

The unidentified body was found on June 25, this year, in the bush between Koluedor and Sege on the Accra-Aflao highways by some farmers and was finally picked by the Sege police.

About six empty BB cartridge shells were found around the body lying in a supine position, with five gunshot wounds mainly at his back.
