Bofoakwa Tano's dramatic fall from grace has continued, with the Sunyani-based club relegated to Ghana’s Division Two League after finishing 7th in Zone One B of the 2024/25 Access Bank Division One League.
Just a season after crashing out of the Ghana Premier League, the once-revered club has now suffered back-to-back relegations — a rare and painful descent for a team with deep roots in Ghanaian football.
Bofoakwa ended the campaign with just 28 points from 28 matches, posting a goal difference of -10, and finishing second from bottom, well below the safety threshold.
Hopes were high at the start of the season for an immediate return to the top flight, but those aspirations quickly faded as the team failed to find consistency.
Defensive frailties and a blunt attack plagued their campaign, and a disastrous run in the second round sealed their fate with several games to spare.
Zone One B was ultimately dominated by Techiman Eleven Wonders, who secured promotion with 53 points. Dormaa Unity and Tano Liberty Youth also impressed, but Bofoakwa struggled to keep pace.
The relegation to Division Two marks a sobering moment in Bofoakwa’s proud history — a club once known for its vibrant fanbase and competitive edge in Ghana’s elite ranks.
As they prepare for life in the third tier, a complete rebuild now looms, with supporters left hoping this historic club can rise again from the depths of Ghanaian football.
