Welbeck Takyi was a hot commodity during the second transfer window as he was courted by the big boys in the Ghana Premier League.

The Bofoakwa Tano striker has been a delight for his side as they push to secure promotion to the elite level.

He was heavily linked with Kumasi Asante Kotoko when striker Kwame Opoku was transferred to USM Algers but the deal fell through.

Takyi has set a target of scoring 20 goals for himself in the Division One League Zone 1  and has so far notched 11 goals in 16 outings.

In an interview with Ark FM, Takyi says he hopes his goals will propel Bofoakwa Tano into the elite division for the first time in 14 years since they were relegated in the 2006/2007 season.

"I want to score 20 goals at the end of the season to make a new record,” said Welbeck Takyi.

He also called on supporters of Bofoakwa Tano to give the team their unflinching support as they seek promotion.

The Sunyani based side are currently second in the Division One League Zone 1 league with 31 points two points adrift current leaders Steadfast FC.
