Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante found the back of the net as Coventry City cruised to a 3-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers in their Championship Round 8 fixture at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday.

Coventry dominated from the outset, with Jake Bidwell opening the scoring in the 11th minute, thanks to a well-placed assist from Jack Rudoni. Just after halftime, Haji Wright extended the lead in the 48th minute, further boosting the home side’s control over the match.

Thomas-Asante, who was a key presence throughout the game, sealed Coventry’s win in the 84th minute, netting the third goal following an assist from Josh Eccles.

The 24-year-old forward played 86 minutes in a solid team performance that capitalized on their opportunities, despite Blackburn having a slight advantage in possession (55%).

This victory improves Coventry’s head-to-head record against Blackburn to three wins in 10 meetings. Up next for Coventry is an away match against Sheffield Wednesday on October 3rd.
