Black Mateors coach Yusif Abubakar has died aged 56.

The shocking death of the former head coach of reigning league champions Aduana stars occurred at his family home at Tech in the Ashanti region,a family member confirmed to 442.GH.com

According to Razak Adams, Yussif who also coached Accra Hearts of Oak died early Tuesday morning after a short illness.

“Yes just passed on about an hour ago", he said.

"He complained of severe stomach upset and was taken to the Tech Hospital where he was on admission for some time.”

“The doctors asked us to bring him home yesterday and he passed on this morning.

According to the family, Yusif Abubakar who was a staunch Muslim will be buried per Islamic law at 14:00GMT today.

Yusif was recently named the head coach of the Ghana U23 and was just set to prepare the Olympic team for the U23 AFCON qualifier with Togo.

He had coached quite a number of clubs in the Ghana premier league, including Wasaman and Swedro All Blacks.

He was adjudged the best coach of the year 2017/18 season after guiding Aduana Stars to win their second Premier league title.
